Isso Vadai

Isso Vadai

There is so much beauty in celebrating connectedness, culture and not to mentioned delicious diverse food across the globe.  Despite the pandemic, that did not stop this event from occurring online. The first dish that I wanted to try making was Isso Vadai from the Sri Lanka group. Based on the description alone about the flavour and texture presented by Rushda, I knew I had to give this a go.

It is understandable why some people find cooking therapeutic. Chopping ingredients like garlic, curry leaves brings out such beautiful natural aroma during preparation. This also includes being intentional in making time. This dish was made on Sunday and involved a lovely bonding experience with family who were curious about this dish.

While times have been tough especially as Victoria has had one of the harshest lockdowns, I was reminded of the joy of exposing myself to new cultural foods and making time to relax cooking which I haven’t done in quite a while.
